Gulf Alliance Media Partnerships

Earth GaugeThe Gulf of Mexico Alliance team in Florida enjoys a dynamic partnership with Earth Gauge - the environmental information service.  Earth Gauge offers more than 2700 environmental messages for broadcast meteorologists in major US media markets.  Initiated by the National Environmental Education Foundation and the American Meteorological Society, Earth Gauge aims to turn broadcast meteorologists into "station scientists."

Many of the "Gulf of Mexico Minute" Radio Spots were adapted from Earth Gauge messages related to the weather, natural hazards, energy efficiency, or other environmental topics in the Gulf of Mexico region.  The "Gulf of Mexico Minute" can be heard here, in our podcast list, on WGCU in southwest Florida on Saturday mornings at 8:19 am, or on the Earth Gauge website: www.earthgauge.net.
